We're excited to announce that the much anticipated new version of our flagship product is here – Reflow 2 is now available!

During its beta, we worked closely with a group of core customers to validate the platform, gather feedback, and refine the experience. Now, we’re ready to make Reflow 2 available to everyone starting a new project. We can't wait to see what you build with it.

Welcome to the next generation of Reflow—reimagined from the ground up to transform how modern building experiences are crafted and used. 

All the important details

  • Reflow 2 can be used for all new projects starting today.
  • Your existing Reflow licenses are compatible with 2.0, so upgrading from the old experience to the new one is free!
  • The Reflow 1 → Reflow 2 Migration Tool will be available in the next major release – version 2.1, making it easy to bring existing Reflow 1.x projects into the new platform without rebuilding them from scratch. The migration experience is designed to carry forward existing dashboards, graphics, and configurations. 
  • Reflow 1 will continue to be available for download and will be supported by our team well into the future, including updates for bug and security fixes. Moving forward, our focus for new features and functionality will be exclusively on Reflow 2.
  • There's so much more to come. We've got a roadmap packed full of new features, plugins, and refinements. Expect to see new releases every month.

What's New in Two in Five

Collaboration: From Audit Logs to Action Items

Collaboration is a way for system integrators, operators, and teams to work together directly inside the building automation environment. Every page in Reflow has its own notes section available in the Collaboration Timeline, including your pages for alarm consoles and equipment graphics.

You can mention almost anything with the @ key. Users get notified when they are @mentioned and other content like devices, schedules, or buildings is hyperlinked to automatically. You can react to any entry with an emoji 👍.

On equipment pages, you'll see the full system audit log associated with the device integrated as events on the Collaboration Timeline so that point overrides and other user actions appear along side your notes and todos.

Manage multiple projects in one Reflow instance

Reflow 2 makes it possible to run multiple Projects from a single instance. Each project maintains its own structure, customization, and deployment lifecycle. Projects let you shape a distinct experience for every user or client.

Projects are a new way to organize and manage your content

Use cases for Projects:

  • Cloud hosting — Host multiple customers on a single Niagara instance, with each customer as its own project, keeping their work completely separate.
  • Role-based views — Tailor a project to each user type, such as Owner, Operator, and Integrator views.
  • Multi-tenant buildings — Separate out each tenant's view within a single building.
  • Campus deployments — Give each building on a campus its own project.
  • Kiosk views — Build a dedicated Kiosk project, separate from your main BAS view.
  • System-based views — Separate projects by system, such as lighting, HVAC, and energy.

Draft, refine, and publish with confidence

Instead of making changes directly to a live project, Reflow 2 introduces a draft and publish workflow.

You can build, test, and refine updates behind the scenes, preview the draft, and decide when those changes are ready to go live. It gives integrators more control over the editing process and reduces the risk of unfinished changes appearing in a production experience.

Change anything with Page Templates

Since the beginning, Reflow has come packed with templated pages that provide a reusable, consistent foundation for overall experience.

In 2.0, our tried and true templates are still there, but they can be infinitely customized – something not possible in the first version.

  • Want a group of relativized history charts on every device's page? You can now make it happen!
  • How-to videos next to a floor plan? Easy.
  • Sequence of operations and maintenance docs next to an animated device? Just a few clicks.

Page Templates provide reusable starting points for your pages, giving teams a proven foundation that can be quickly customized for each project. They’re designed to help create a more consistent look and feel across deployments while reducing the need to build common experiences over and over again.

Go beyond floor plans with the Canvas Editor

The new Canvas Editor takes the capabilities of the original Reflow Floor Plan Editor much further. In addition to detailed floor plan visualizations, you can create fully custom canvases for dashboard blocks, equipment graphics, and other rich visual interfaces—all from one editor.

Connect data to UI more easily with Bindings

Reflow 2 expands the way bindings connect your Niagara data to the experiences you build.

Bindings can control colors, icons, and text dynamically, support math functions that can reduce the need for additional wiresheet logic, connect to non-traditional data sources, and support copy-and-paste workflows. 

In Reflow 2 each and every color picker, image picker, and icon picker across all pages, blocks, canvases support bindings.

Every part of the experience can now be data-driven – and not just with Niagara data. The new Variables system allows you to define your own UI-specific bindings to control your content; they can be interacted with by end-users.

Turn BQL queries into dynamic system summaries

The new BQL Table block brings familiar BQL queries directly into dashboards and pages.

With it, you can create live lists of temperatures, alarms, overrides, runtimes, equipment statuses, and more – any query you can dream up. Results can include automatic links to devices, support slot actions directly from the results, and be styled with icons and colors.
